Try us out with a taster session
A single, no-strings, one-to-one lesson with the tutor who'd teach you ongoing, from £27.
The taster session is one full lesson, in our Islington studio, with the same tutor who'd take you forward if you decide to enrol. You walk away knowing exactly what our lessons feel like, before you commit to anything.
It's the single best way to find out if Planet drum is right for you, your child, or the friend you're thinking of getting started.

Taster lesson FAQs
What is a shared (one-to-two) taster?
Two students with one tutor in one studio for 50 minutes: perfect for friends, couples, parents and kids, or siblings who want to try lessons together. £65 total for the pair (£32.50 per person), which is cheaper than two individual tasters. After the taster, you can both join our shared membership and keep learning together at the same per-person rate.
Is the taster lesson refundable?
Yes, if you change your mind before booking your session, you can request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Once your taster is booked, we ask for 24 hours' notice to reschedule it. Taster lessons are valid for six months from purchase.
Do I need to bring anything?
Nothing at all. We supply the instruments, sticks, music stands, everything. Just turn up.
Will I get pressured to sign up?
No. We don't run on the hard sell. If Planet drum isn't right for you, we'd genuinely rather find that out at the taster than have you stuck in a monthly membership you don't want. If it *is* right, you can enrol whenever you're ready.
Can I do a taster with a friend?
Yes, we offer shared (1-to-2) tasters and lessons. Sign up together and learn together. See our memberships page for shared rates.
What instruments can I try?
All of them. Drums, singing, piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, congas and percussion, music production, songwriting, or creative musicianship.
What if I've never played before?
That's exactly who taster lessons are designed for. You won't be the first nervous beginner your tutor has met today: they'll know how to settle you in.
How long until I can actually book my first proper lesson?
After your taster, we usually have you in for your first full lesson within a week or two, depending on your tutor's availability and your schedule.
