Do we need any musical experience?

None at all. The session is built so everyone plays from the first minute, whatever their experience.

How many people can take part?

Up to 30 at The Crypt. For bigger groups we come to you: we run workshops at offices and conference venues for as many as 400 people.

Do you provide the instruments?

Yes, everything. Drums and percussion are set up and ready when your team walks in.

Can you run the workshop at our office?

Yes. If you can't bring the team to Islington, we bring the workshop to you, at your offices or a conference venue.

How long is a session?

Typically up to two hours. We'll shape the format around your event.

How much does it cost?

Every booking is quoted individually based on group size and location. Make an enquiry below and we'll come back to you within one working day.

What it is

A single session of group drumming where your whole team plays together, drawing on vibrant rhythms from Africa and Latin America to build communication, collaboration, and cohesion. Real instruments, real musicians, hosted at Planet drum, our working music school since 1997, offering a genuine venue and real depth that an events company can't match. No experience needed, and it's minutes from central London, easy to reach whether your team's local, remote, or flying in.

WHY DRUMMING WORKS FOR TEAMS

From the dawn of mankind, music and rhythm have been effective tools for communication and bonding. Hierarchies in life can sometimes lead to a feeling of imbalance within a team or group of people. Planet drum's team building workshops work to restore this balance by challenging everyone to work together towards a common goal, for which every member's participation is equally important. This is a great way to build powerful team performance and create exceptional team cohesion.

Stress Release

A genuine physical activity that breaks the ice fast. Teams leave energised, relaxed, and with barriers down.

Unity & Belonging

Drumming together creates a real sense of togetherness: everyone contributes their own beat, but it only works as one. That shared focus builds a sense of belonging you don't get from a normal team activity.

Lasting Impact

The focus, energy, and connection from a session stay with people for days afterwards, leaving teams stimulated, relaxed, and more open with each other. Drawing on rhythms from across cultures, it's a universal language everyone can share, regardless of background.

The practical bit: we host up to 30 people at The Crypt, our Islington studio, a 4-minute walk from Highbury & Islington station. Bigger group? We also run workshops at your offices or a conference venue, for as many as 400 people. See packages and formats on our dedicated corporate site:
