Choosing the right place for your drum lessons can make a huge difference to your progress, motivation, and overall musical experience. At Planet drum, we believe learning drums should be more than just weekly exercises and practice routines. It should feel creative, inspiring, and connected to real music and real playing situations.
One of the biggest advantages of learning with Planet drum is our location in North London. Being surrounded by one of the world's most active music cities creates a very different atmosphere compared to many smaller music schools. Students are constantly exposed to concerts, rehearsals, musicians, and creative opportunities, which naturally becomes part of the learning experience.
Another important advantage is our space and facilities. Our drum school in North London includes dedicated practice rooms for students, with two drum kits in each room. This setup allows students to play directly with the teacher during lessons, making demonstrations, exercises, and musical interaction much more effective and practical. Having access to comfortable rehearsal spaces also helps students stay motivated and consistent with their playing.
What also makes Planet drum different from many other schools is the balance between technical development and real musical experience. Many places focus only on exercises or graded material, but we place strong importance on groove, creativity, feel, and playing with other musicians. Through our band workshops, rehearsals, and student concerts, drummers gain practical experience that cannot be learned from books alone.
Our teachers are all active musicians with real performance experience, which means students learn not only technique, but also how music works in real situations. Lessons are adapted to each student individually, whether they are looking for beginner drum lessons, improving coordination, or preparing for live performance.
At Planet drum, the goal is not simply to teach patterns on a drum kit. The goal is to help students become confident musicians who genuinely enjoy the process of learning music and playing with others.
Whether you are taking your first lesson or looking to develop your playing further, learning drums in London, surrounded by music and creativity, can be one of the most rewarding experiences for any drummer.
